About Us
Chartered in 1957, Grande Prairie Lions
is a leading community and world service organization. The
club’s focus is on support to organizations that offer
learning opportunities to people.
Grande Prairie Lions are proud to be a major partner in
Lions Learning Centre. The many programs operating from the
Centre provide varied learning opportunities to people of
all ages and circumstances.
As a member of Lions Clubs International, Grande Prairie
Lions is a part of the world’s largest service organization
consisting of 1.3 million members in 200 countries and
geographical areas of the world. The collective humanitarian
services provided by Lions around the world are
unparalleled.
Lions support drug awareness and self esteem programs for
youth, diabetes education and research, blindness prevention
and aids to visually impaired persons, and many other
programs aimed at serving the needs of the community.
Lions members come from all walks of life and are united in
upholding common values of loyalty, integrity and service to
others. Gender, ethnicity, partisan politics and sectarian
religion have no place in determining membership.
